Case Study

A recent case involved a General Manager of a manufacturing facility was alleged to have harassed (potentially sexually) and bullied a female operator. The matter had been the subject of an initial WorkCover investigation due to the employee's absence from work and a claim for stress. The claim was rejected. The matter was then referred to the Equal Opportunity Commission and a claim was lodged in the Supreme Court against the General Manager, Directors of the Company and the Company.

Quadrant was asked to formally investigate the claim, report to the Board and to ultimately resolve the matter.

This was done - a settlement was reached with minimum legal exposure, releases were obtained, some induction processes improved and management approach generally enhanced.
